Date: Mid-April to Early May
Mihara Cherry Blossom Tree Illumination
About 200 cherry blossom trees line the Agatsuma River.
During peak bloom, the trees are beautifully illuminated, creating a magical spring night atmosphere.
Located at a high elevation, the cherry blossom trees in Tsumagoi Village reach full bloom about one month later than in central Tokyo.
You can enjoy cycling with Tsumachari (rental bicycles) or simply take a relaxing stroll beneath the blossoms.

Date: April 29 each year (Showa Day – a national holiday in Japan)
Tsumagoi Village Yasuichi
Around 50 vendors set up stalls along the street, which is closed to traffic for the day, offering garden plants, seedlings, flowers, farming tools, hardware, and more.
As a spring festival in Tsumagoi Village, the event brings a lively and festive atmosphere throughout the day.
In addition to the classic festival food stalls, you’ll also find shops selling farming tools and hardware, where plenty of hidden treasures await.
It’s also a beautiful time to enjoy the cherry blossoms.

Date: Early to Mid-May
Asama Highland Shakunage (Rhododendron) Festival
Enjoy a relaxing walk across the highlands, where rhododendrons bloom in full color as you take in panoramic views over Tsumagoi Village.
The rhododendrons spread out just steps from the parking area, making it easy for anyone to enjoy them.
Hiking in the area is also highly recommended.

Yunomaru Highlands Azalea Festival
Approximately 600,000 Japanese azaleas come into bloom, covering the entire Yunomaruyama area like a bright scarlet carpet. Enjoy panoramic views of the flowers from the chairlift or stroll along the walking paths.
On the day of the event, there will be sales of local specialties, a fun raffle, and a band performance on stage.

Tsumagoi Highland Cabbage Marathon
Self-proclaimed as “Japan’s toughest road race,” this marathon is known for its challenging ups and downs.
Participants even receive race souvenirs featuring Tsumagoi Highland cabbage — the region boasts the highest cabbage shipment volume in Japan!
Embrace the legendary steep climb in the final two kilometers and give it everything you’ve got! Aid stations offer local favorites like fresh cabbage and hanamame beans. Combined with breathtaking views, this race lets you fully immerse yourself in the flavors and nature of Tsumagoi Village.

Date: The last Saturday of July (annually)
Tsumagoi Festival
The elementary school grounds are filled with food stalls and kitchen trucks packed closely together.
After a variety of stage performances, the evening concludes with a spectacular grand finale featuring numerous large fireworks lighting up the sky.
Be sure to enjoy the stunning fireworks, made even more beautiful by Tsumagoi’s fresh, clear air.

Cabbage-Chu (Shouting Love for Wives in the Center of a Cabbage Field)
This unique event, also known as Cabbage-Chu", invites participants to shout out heartfelt messages—feelings they may not usually express—right in the middle of the cabbage fields.
What began as a small gathering held in a local farmer’s field eventually led to the creation of a new scenic landmark known as Aisai no Oka (Lovers’ Hill).
